Despite a forecast of snow that never happened, despite a few midnight flurries, today’s weather was something out of a pre-hurricane playbook. With sun and high winds, the temperatures were held down to early spring lows in the 30’s and the wind did a nice job of helping pedestrians to lose any items that weren’t firmly in their grasp. Without the snow, I chose to forego a heavier coat and opted to layer instead.
With the weather still on course for spring, I opted for the double-pocket chambray shirt from last year’s Ernest Alexander GAP X GQ offering. In continuing on the collaboration mini-trend, I chose to layer the Baldwin sweater from the same collaboration as a middle layer and where the bulk of the warmth came from. To finish off the look, I again opted for the field jacket which does an excellent job of deflecting the wind.
